4th Annual Charity Golf 2016

Worldwide Resins & Chemical (WWRC) Malaysia Sdn Bhd held the fourth charity golf tournament at Glenmarie Golf & Country Club in Shah Alam and again it proved to be an overwhelming success.

This year, it was another full field of 160 golfers, or 40 flights, in attendance. It was also the first time a team of 23 players from WWRC Taiwan took part in the tournament.

Among the other visiting business partners were players from Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand.

Speaking at the event, WWRC Malaysia Chief Executive Officer Teoh Weng Chai said: “We are indeed grateful to all the players and sponsors who helped to make this event a tremendous success.”

Additional fund were raised during the prize presentation dinner through auctions of two paintings, two watches, famous golfers’ signed caps and karaoke performances.

To add even more excitement and entertainment to the event, some WWRC staff performed a Bollywood dance which raised RM61,000.

“Our business partners from Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand generously gave their full financial support to the event and in particular the auction,” said Teoh.

“Overall, we raised RM500,000 and this year each organization received RM50,000. They are Pertubuhan Kebajikan Mental Selangor in Petaling Jaya, Putra Heights Buddhist Society, Klang Special School, the National Autism Society of Malaysia, Tzu-Chi in Muar, SRJK ( C ) Pandan in Johor Baru.

“And as can be seen, our charity drive still went on even though the global and national economic climate remains difficult,” added Teoh.”

“It is my hope that this culture of giving and sharing will continue and play its part to make our society a better place, particularly for the needy and less fortunate.”
